The asked me for an image {for this size an image with 1 or 2 people}  I choose an picture I took of Chris...

 They took that image and turned it into a beautiful 3D Laser Gifts!  I wish my pictures came out better, so you could really see the amazing work they did!  Add the LED Base to the bottom of the 3d glass picture, and it really illuminates the image!

We are going to get all three boys done in the Diamond!  This was a perfect custom Father's Day gift!  Damon really loved it...can't wait to get the others!

Get Organized with Box4Blox -Review-

I'm all about organization, but when it comes to three boys...it's a little hard to accomplish!  I'm always on the lookout for new and innovative products to help my cause...I recently stumbled upon a product, that is as fun to use as it is functional, and makes me happy!!

Box4Blox is a great innovative plastic LEGO® brick container...Divided into 4 sections that have open squared inside.  Each section has different size squares, and is used kind of like a sifter...the large ones stay in the top, while smaller ones find their way to the bottom...Now everything has a PLACE!!

DISNEY ANNOUNCES START OF PRODUCTION ON "MALEFICENT"

Burbank, CA  (June 19, 2012) – The Walt Disney Studios announced today that production began Wednesday, June 13th, on “Maleficent,” starring Academy Award®–winning actress Angelina Jolie.

            Directed by two-time Oscar®-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut, and produced by Joe Roth, “Maleficent” is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel.  

Co-starring in the film are Sharlto Copley (“District 9”), Elle Fanning (“Super 8”), Sam Riley (“On the Road”), Imelda Staunton (“Vera Drake”), Miranda Richardson (“The Hours”), Juno Temple (“Atonement”) and Lesley Manville (“Secrets & Lies”). 

            This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora. 

Behind-the-scenes talent includes Academy Award®–winning cinematographer Dean Semler (“Dances with Wolves,” “In the Land of Blood and Honey”), production designer Gary Freeman (“Saving Private Ryan,” “The Bourne Supremacy”), two-time Oscar® nominated costume designer Anna B. Copy-Kids Healthy Eating DVD -Review/Giveaway-

As a parent you strive to get your kiddos to eat healthy, but it doesn't all ways work the way you want it...I recently had the chance to view a copy of the Copy-Kids DVD with my 2 1/2yr old son, Chris.  It was not really what I expected, but everything that the you’d expect based on the title....I’m not sure what I thought it was going to be, but he really enjoyed it.  Basically, there are short clips of various little kids eating different fruits and veggies.

 COPY-KIDS MEDIA, an independent media company, presents its debut DVD. Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables is the first DVD in a series designed to encourage healthy habits in young children. This series is for children aged six months to 5 years.

The genesis for the project came when Cai Dixon noticed her young daughter was more willing to try new fruits and vegetables when she saw another child eating them. Bella liked to copy. Dixon wondered if the experience had to be live, or if a video of children eating fruits and vegetables would also work? “It did, and not just with Bella,” recalls Dixon. And so a concept was born: Find children who LOVE to eat fruits and veggies, film them eating them – and make the video available to parents. It’s that simple. Says Dixon, “I never would have expected my child to eat raw broccoli – but she demanded it as soon as she saw another child eating it on TV. Now it is one of her favorite vegetables.”

THOUGHTS:
The DVD features 12 — 7 minute chapters, one for each of twelve fruits & veggies:  Apples – Avocado – Banana – Bell Pepper – Blueberries – Broccoli – Carrots – Cucumber – Orange – Raspberries – Strawberries – Tomato.  I loved that the video started with the veggies, it’s hard enough to get veggies in my kids..especially following a sweet fruit!  I let my son pick what we watched and watched each video in its entirety.  He picked peppers first...surprised the heck out of me!  Not 2 minutes in he was asking for peppers...WHAT?!

The kids in the segments are fun to watch and are really seem to enjoy what they are eating.  Chris giggled along and asked for every veggie he saw them eating...

Copy-Kids launched in January 2012 and is meant for children ages 6 months to 5 years old.  It runs for approximately 115 minutes.  Children learn from watching other children do something ( know this from Chris picking up EVERYTHING his brothers do), and this video has captured the essence of that by showing our kids how enjoyable a variety of healthy foods can be.  I also liked that it showed that there was a variety of ways in how each veggie/fruit was eaten.

Happy 10th B-Day Nick! Heelys -Review-

For years now {ruffly about 5yrs} my oldest {now 10} has been asking for Heelys...We never felt he was old enough to get them, and knowing that he broke his leg when he was two didn't helped.  Well this year I decided it was time to give in and let him have a pair!  He picked out his favorite pair, and waited by the door for a week waiting for them to come in.

When it finally showed up, he could not wait to get the box open!! You could tell it was them because of the special tape around the box with HEELYS all over it...I opened the box for him, and he pulled the shoes out, we figured out how to use the special tool to remove the inserts (to let you walk like a regular shoe) and then popped the wheels in. We didn't read the instructions yet, big MISTAKE! LOL...

He fell, and fell some more! Right on his butt! He was thinking he could just zoom around like they do on TV and that is not the case. He had to learn how to Heel Skate, no matter how coordinated you are, it still takes time!! It's a good thing they have training videos...so not long after he is able to get around a little better.

 While these shoes provide a way to have fun zooming about, they are also a great form of exercise....and with a video gamer, he need all the exercise he can get!  The colors, and patterns are super fun and fit every one's personality.  You can tell the stitching is sturdy and these will last for a while with all the wear and tear that he gives his shoes. Thanks to Heelys for getting my little man up and moving!  I guess with the next one I shouldn't wait so long to get them...There fun and get the kids outside and moving!  I would recommend these for any age (well maybe not under 5)...

Lightning Safty Tips from John Jensenius

School is out and summer is finally here, which means more time outdoors with the family! Although popular outdoor summertime activities are wonderful family-bonding experiences, they also come with risks we need to be aware of. The National Weather Service (NWS) & John Jensenius would like to share some lightning safety tips with you the Mom of 3 Boys readers:

Some facts about lightning:

·         Most lightning victims are close to safe shelter but wait too long to get there.
·         About 34% are outside, far from safe shelter, engaging in activities like bicycling, hiking, camping, and fishing, common family activities for the summer months.
·         Over 60% of lightning fatalities happen when people are engaged in leisure activities.
·         Lightning injuries often leave victims with serious life-long disabilities, depression, job loss and family breakups.
·         80% of lightning victims are male.  Men will make better choices if they believe their actions will have an impact on their families.  Social science shows that women are influential in getting the men in their lives to make smart choices when it comes to health and safety.

I had the chance to interview John and ask him a few questions to share with you all:

1.       What do you do if you are out in a lightning storm? ie camping, fishing, hiking

There isn't anything that you can do to provide a significant level of safety when outside.  That's why it is very important to plan ahead so that you can get to a safe place in case a thunderstorm develops.  There are things that would increase the risk of being struck which we tell people to avoid.  Lightning tends to strike the tallest object in the immediate area so you don't want to be the tallest object...and you don't want to be near the tallest object. Lightning travels along the ground surface, so you also don't want to lie down.  If you can't get to a substantial building, the best thing to do is get inside a nearby hard-topped metal vehicle if one is available.

2.       What should you do if someone is hit?

Call 911 for help.  Monitor the victim.  You may need an automated external defibrillator (AED) to get their heart started (if stopped) or CPR to keep them alive until help comes.

3.       What causes lightning?

Lightning is a rapid discharge of the charges that build up in a thunderstorm cloud.  I've put together a good explanation at the following web link.

4.       Is a Lightning storm predictable?  Can the weather station predict it?

We can predict whether thunderstorms are likely to develop on a particular day based on whether the atmospheric conditions are favorable.  And we usually have some idea of the approximate time when they are likely to develop.  However, we are not able to predict the exact time or location where a thunderstorm will develop or where the lightning will occur.

5.       Where did you study?

My undergraduate degree in meteorology was from Millersville University in Pennsylvania.  My graduate degree was from the Pennsylvania State University.  However, much of what I've learned about lightning over the years has come from talking with researchers at national and international meetings. 

6.       What/When is/was the worst Lightning storm you have ever seen?

That's somewhat difficult to answer.  As a child, I watched lightning strike and blow apart a tree in my yard -- that was the most impressive personal incident.  The most impressive incident that I documented was a February lightning strike in Maine where the lightning struck about a half dozen places between two people's yards.  As for actual storms, the most startling are those that have woken me during the middle of the night with a nearby loud lightning strike.
