Part of the boys' bedtime routine is to read a book or two. I love the time we get to spend, and the adventures we go on. I love reading books that offer more
than entertainment, but sneaks in a bit of learning too. I recently had the opportunity to review How Do You Sleep, Baby Dolphin? by Tamara Vellozzo.
How Do You Sleep, Baby Dolphin?
is about a young child, who as he is getting tucked in with this
favorite dolphin lovely, starts to wonder how real baby dolphins sleep.
He wonders things like does a baby dolphin brush his teeth or have a
special blanket. The baby dolphin then shares his own bedtime routine.
It’s completely adorable and Christopher, Jonathan, Nick and I all learned a bit
about dolphins. There is a short fact sheet on the last page that was
great to interact and explore further conversation with the boys after we
completed the story. I was surprised to learn that dolphins can only
hold their breath up to 20 minutes and Nick thought it was funny that
baby dolphins nurse as well!
It is an enchanting, educational story with bright, colorful pictures and has become a favorite around our house..The boys absolutely love it! How Do You Sleep, Baby Dolphin? would be a great addition to any home library, I know it has been to ours!
