New Release - Edens Edge Review

I am a big country fan...I listen to all types of music, but country is what i always come back to, makes me feel good.
The New Album from Edens Edge is comprised of Hannah Blaylock (lead vocals), Dean Berner (harmony vocals, guitar, dobro) and Cherrill Green (harmony vocals, mandolin, banjo and guitar).  Edens Edge possesses a unique musical blend deeply rooted in Country music, acoustic instrumentation and pure vocal harmonies.  The hot newcomers have garnered a lot of buzz at Country radio, have been profiled as one of Billboard's "Artist to Watch" and were chosen as a CMT LISTEN UP! Artist. Just last year they joined three major Country tours - Reba, Lady Antebellum & Brad Paisley.
Growing up an hours drive from each other, they were introduced by mutual friends in 2004 before iconic songwriter Kye Fleming discovered them through their entry in the NSAI Song Contest.  They performed a special tribute during Fleming's Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame induction were Big Machine Label Group President & CEO Scott Borchetta took notice and signed them to Big Machine Records.

The Arkansas-bred trio will release their self-titled, debut album on June 12 2012.  Award winning producers Mark Bright and Dann Huff showcase Edens Edge's rootsy signature style on individual tracks - including the sassy new single "Too Good To Be True" and their Top 20 debut single, "Amen," among others - with members of trio penning half of the album.

This Summer Edens Edge will kick off their opening slot on Rascal Flatts "CHANGED TOUR" as well as share a national platform with their labelmates - Outnumber Hunger, which helps to secure meals for the 1 in 6 Americans struggling.  The partnership between Big Machine Label Group, General Mills and Feeding America engages consumers across the country while encouraging local outreach.

"Country music fans are the greatest fans on earth," says Dean. "It's a huge preivilege for us to be given to make music, but emen more so that we get to meet the fans every day."
I loved this CD from the moment I popped it in the player!  The song Amen starts off with a steady slow beat, a picks up a little during the chorus...it reminds me of a little Lady Antebellum, or SugarLand.  Hannah's voice possesses a distinct texture and natural beauty that makes it both instantly recognizable and pleasant to hear.  The production is light and simple, yet the sweet sounds of Dean’s dobro and Cherill’s mandolin are subtly infectious.  This song makes for one of my favorite Country ballads this year!

I love how they sing about life as they know it, what they grew up with...“Amen” find the female narrator, along with the whole town, rejoicing as a young man finally calls it off with a woman who was no good for him to begin with..."What we love so much about the South and small towns is how everybody knows everybody else and when tow people get together rumors spread" says Hannah "We love that it talks about the culture that we grew up in."  They were trying to come up with "that song", the good first single, then the preacher said, "someone give me an amen!" That was it!  They started building the story together.

It's so great to hear such an enjoyable display of talent at such an early stage in a career! I would recommend this CD to anyone who loves their country music!  This is definitely a great addition to my CD collection and will get played often! The Album as a whole is a great start to their careers, and I can't wait to see what there future holds!  I'm definitely a fan!

Now that we’re on the road most of the year, we often find ourselves seated at Cracker Barrels across the country.
