Today is the last day of school for my kiddos...i should be excited, but all i can think about is affording to feed them....I'm a little ashamed to share that they are on reduced lunch this year...i know i shouldn't be, but I'm never had to depend on any kind of assistance before! Now that there getting out, I wont have that 30cents a day... it will be more like $5-10 a day depending on what i fix them, and my boys can eat! Sandwiches and chips can only go so far....especially when there used to well balanced warm meals...
Keeping them entertained is another chore because anything you want to do these days costs an arm and a leg...the only thing free around here is the beach or the park...pretty sad...I have a few ideas thanks to pinterest and my past with them, but there's what like 90 days in summer...that's a lot of entertainment! My 99 things to do will last maybe a month, unless I do one a day...then what to do with the rest of the day...lol...I'm making it harder than it needs to be I know...uggg. If I had girls, we would play dolls, or arts & crafts {well at least that's what i did when i was little} but even doing crafts is getting extremely expensive...a box of crayons is line $4 now...then they'll want paint, you need paint brushes, paper, coloring books, pom poms, stickers...and the list goes on and on till your at $100 before you know it!
I really don't enjoy them doing what they want to do - sit in front of video games ALL DAY - or movie after movie....it's not good for them...but they hate to read - I don't know why, but they do.
I would LOVE to hear from you guys on ideas for meals or entertainment!
